Study Abroad for Westcott Students

Edumadic is pleased to offer all past and current Westcott students one free course while traveling with Edumadic on a program this year.

Use code WESTCOTT when applying to be eligible for the offer.

Edumadic has been running travel programs for online students since 2017.

The idea behind Edumadic is simple. If your classes are online why not take them from the beaches of Bali, the jungles of Costa Rica, or the cafes of Europe?

Edumadic Programs Explained

Key Features

  • Programs run for either 4 or 6 weeks to a single location
  • 10 to 20 Edumads join each program
  • Edumads live in the same accommodation for the duration of the program. Each Edumad has their own private room
  • Time on a program is designed specifically to allow students both the time to complete assignments and the freedom to enjoy and explore the location they are living in
  • Programs run throughout the year, meaning Edumads can join us for 1 month, a semester, a year, or their entire degree!

What's Included?

Accommodation & study space

When combining online classes with world travel, it's vitally important that you have your own space to recharge and relax. That's why each Edumad on our programs always has their own private room.

You will also have access to a study space with super fast internet and comfortable seating and desks. Perfect for keeping on top of your online classes!

Community

You'll be living, learning and exploring alongside a handpicked group of like-minded individuals.

All participants of our programs must be taking online classes. Most are taking classes towards a degree, but not all.

90% of Edumads are 18-25 years old, with the average age being 22.

24/7 in person support

Our Program Coordinators live alongside participants for the duration of the program. They are available 24 hours a day to assist in any situation.

Beyond the Coordinators themselves, Edumadic has an extensive support network of local suppliers, agents, and advisors in each location, accumulated from both previous time on programs in that region and the personal travel experiences of all Edumadic staff.

Location guides & maps

We provide you with our own personalized maps and location guides with information collated from all our past programs as well as our own personal exploration.

We also provide a briefing on arrival, sharing with you the most important information, particularly around safety and navigating the neighborhood you will be calling home.

Organization of trips and events

The Edumadic team are on hand to organise various trips and events throughout the program.

Typically this means daily activities in the area that we live, weekly day trips to tourist hotspots, and bi-weekly overnight excursions to exciting sights and experiences that are a bit further afield.

Volunteering opportunities

In each destination you will have the opportunity to volunteer in the local environment and giveback to the community that hosts our programs.

The opportunities vary depending on the location and season, but most often they involve animal welfare, the environment, and teaching english.

Airport transfer on arrival

Landing in a new country can be stressful, and is the time that you're most vulnerable to scams. We will pick you up from the airport to make sure your time abroad starts without a hitch.

Transfers from our accommodation back to the airport are not included in program fees but we will assist in organizing this for you.

A life changing experience

If you believe our past Edumads, joining one of our programs is probably going to change your life!

One Westcott Class

Edumadic and Westcott are making an exclusive offer to all past and current Westcott students.

One Westcott course from this list will be included in the fees charged by Edumadic for any Edumadic program joined this year.

Use code WESTCOTT in your application to ensure you are eligible for this offer.

What's Not Included?

Flights

Your initial flight from your home to the start of the program, and from the end of the program back home, are not included in the program fees.

We offer flight booking support upon request, and can assist in planning transfers between back to back programs.

A member of the program team will meet you at the airport to make sure you safe get to our accommodation.

Spending Money

Participants need to bring money to cover their living costs on the program.

Estimated living costs are listed on each program's dedicated page. It includes allowance for food, drink, entertainment and all typical activities and excursions that are enjoyed in that location.

Travel Insurance

All our participants are required to acquire appropriate travel insurance for the duration of programs they attend.

Due to the long term nature of our programs your home insurance is unlikely to be appropriate.

We are happy to suggest insurance providers designed for participants of programs such as ours.

Visas

Edumads are responsible for their own visa to be granted entry into the country.

Most programs run in countries where there is no pre-planning required to enter the country. Visas are issued at immigration as you go through the airport, or are not required at all. Sometimes a small fee is charged.

We will inform you of the visa requirements for the program you choose to attend and offer plenty of support in organizing visas where necessary, but ultimately it is your responsibility to ensure you are eligible to enter the country where your program runs.

Program Locations

Where we Travel

We choose locations that are perfect for traveling online students to spend a month or more.

When choosing locations, there are many factors we consider. Some of the key ones are:

  • Affordability: Living there will cost you less than living at home
  • Safety: We would never run a program to a location we are not certain is safe, and that we haven't spent significant time living in ourselves
  • Enrichment: All the locations we travel to are awesome! They have so much to offer the Edumads that are fortunate enough to spend a month or more living in them.
  • Comfort: We choose locations that have accommodation and neighborhoods well suited to our needs as traveling online students. All locations have internet which is fast and reliable enough to not hinder our online classes.
