Welcome to Perugia, a hilly university town situated in the heart of the Umbrian countryside in central Italy. This is real Italy, away from the crowds of Rome, Florence, and Venice. Perugia is eating al fresco at the family owned restaurant for a few dollars a plate. It's wandering centuries old cobblestone streets and discovering Etrucan churches and medieval ruins. Perugia is exploring all the little villages in the surrounding hills, where nobody speaks a word of English. Perugia is also a couple of hours bus ride from every tourist hotspot in the country. You'll live the authentic Italian dream during the week, and tick off those bucket list sights on weekends!
