Gap Year Programs

The Perfect Gap Year Program Doesn't Exi...

All for less than $3,000 per month

Earn College Credit

All program participants are enrolled in one online college course worth 3 credits. All courses in our catalog are highly transferable general education courses.

Completing your class while living abroad on an Edumadic program will earn you Edumadic’s Certificate in Remote Productivity, which entitles you to a $400 discount on any future Edumadic program, as well as a 10% discount on tuition at Colorado State University Global.

Coliving Abroad

You will live abroad for 6 weeks in one of our gap year locations with a handpicked group of 10 - 20 other Edumads.

You will be accompanied by a program team who are available 24/7 for the duration of the program to make sure that the time you spend abroad is as transformative as we know it can be, as well as keep you out of harms way!

Your time on a program is purposefully designed to make sure you have time to study, explore and experience the environment you are living in, form deep bonds with your fellow Edumads, and learn about the local culture.

Volunteer

The program team will present a number of opportunities to volunteer in the local community throughout the program. Opportunities will vary depending on location and season, but will always fall under one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Global Citizenship

Participants in our Gap Year programs will be enrolled in our Global Citizenship course.

We know that spending time abroad can totally change how people see themselves, the world, and their place in it. We’ve seen these transformations happen first hand time and time again on our programs over the years.

Our Certificate in Global Citizenship creates a framework through which we more deliberately encourage those transformations to occur.

The curriculum is designed to accompany your time abroad and coursework encourages you to reflect on your experience as it develops before, during, and after the program.

Edumads must complete the Global Citizenship course in order to attend programs beyond their first.

What Else?

24/7 in person support

Our Program Coordinators live alongside participants for the duration of the program. They are available 24 hours a day to assist in any situation.

Beyond the Coordinators themselves, Edumadic has an extensive support network of local suppliers, agents, and advisors in each location, accumulated from both previous time on programs in that region and the personal travel experiences of all Edumadic staff.

Location guides & maps

We provide you with our own personalized maps and location guides with information collated from all our past programs as well as our own personal exploration.

We also provide a briefing on arrival, sharing with you the most important information, particularly around safety and navigating the neighborhood you will be calling home.

Organization of trips and events

The Edumadic team are on hand to organise various trips and events throughout the program.

Typically this means daily activities in the area that we live, weekly day trips to tourist hotspots, and bi-weekly overnight excursions to exciting sights and experiences that are a bit further afield.

International SOS

Every Gap Year participant will have membership to International SOS, The world's leading health & security services company. They have more than 12,000 health, security and logistics experts on standby to provide support and assistance from over 1,000 locations in 90 countries.

They are trusted by over 11,000 clients globally to keep their people safe when traveling abroad.

Six Weeks - One Location

+
-

After running programs for four years, we've found that six weeks is the perfect length of time in one location.

Edumads are able (and encouraged!) to join more than one program if they want to explore more of the world.

Our schedule is designed so that Edumads can go from program to program. Most join us for 2 or 3 programs over the course of a year, either split throughout the year or back-to-back.

Fees: $2,000 - $4,500

+
-

Program fees vary depending on location. Some are more expensive to run programs in than others.

Your program fees Include:

  • One three credit online college course of your choice
  • Our Global Citizenship course
  • Private room in community accommodation
  • Access to a dedicated study space
  • International SOS membership

Program fees increase as programs draw closer. The sooner you secure your place, the lower your fees!

Other Costs: $900 - $1,600

+
-

We will provide an estimate of other costs associated with joining a particular program to applicants.

Our estimate for these other costs include:

  • Food & drink
  • Entertainment, activities, & excursions
  • Travel insurance
  • Visas (where required)

These costs vary depending on location. Some locations are more expensive to live in than others!

Flights to and from the program are not included in this estimate, nor are they covered in the program fees. We can help applicants to estimate the cost of these.
